Skimboarding is a great way to play around on the coast, especially when the water is too cold for swimming or boogie boarding. To skimboard, you wait until the wave is starting to go out then toss your board out, chase it, and hop on to skim across the water right along the shoreline. It takes a little practice. I have been skimboarding on the beach at Seaside, but you can really go anywhere as long as the sand is hard and smooth. Some people surf on their skimboards, but you don’t have to go extreme to have fun. A basic skimboardscosts about twenty dollars and can be found in shops all around town.
