Burning Bliss with a View (Corbett)

With most organized rides coming to an end for the season, now is the time to start training for next year! Among our favorite challenges is a ride in the Gorge. We start at Lewis and Clark State Recreation Site for a nice warm up ride along the Sandy River – or at the Stark Street Bridge just west of Dabney State Recreation Area for a bit of a shorter ride. From the bridge, it’s a steady 1,000 foot climb along the Historic Columbia River Highway to Chanticleer Point, one of the most scenic views of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. If you take on this thigh burning challenge, be sure to pack extra water and snacks, as you’ll certainly need to hydrate and refuel once you hit the lookout.
