Reserve a Lookout Tower This Fall (Sisters)

Until September 15th, Oregon’s fire lookout towers are working stations, but once wildfire season winds down the firetowers are available for unique, isolated getaways. The Green Ridge Fire Tower near Sisters looks out over the Metolius basin toward Mt. Jefferson, and the soft sunset glow off the glacial fields is a sight to remember. Reservations go fast, so get online and plan ahead! Pack hiking shoes, binoculars, a good book, and plenty of water for drinking, cooking, and washing. After your stay, ease back into civilization with a fondue of local cheeses at the Kokanee Café in Camp Sherman.
